Mausam - A Timeless Love Story…

ts that time of the year when Bollywood is wallowing oodles of Blockbuster HIT movies in the form of Singham, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Delly Belly, Murder 2 etc. With all the flash and paparazzi revolving around these movies, there is a movie which promises to be completely different from the rest. Yes, we are talking about Mausam. Mausam stars young blood in the form of Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor and is directed by none other than veteran actor and also the father of Shahid Kapoor, Pankaj Kapoor. The music of the film is composed by Pritam.

Both Shahid and Sonam are coming out from easily unmemorable films in the form of Milenge Milenge for Shahid and Thank You for Sonam in the past. Both their movies didn't do well at the Box Office. But with the looks of Mausam, it seems they are just a movie away from success. The first look of Mausam was revealed in February 2011, wherein the film's title Mausam has a tag line "A timeless love story", along with Shahid Kapoor sporting an Army look with moustache and aviators. Soon the film's poster gained a lot of prominence and popularity amongst the masses. With the tag-line "A timeless love story" and recently revealed first looks of a unique nature, the film is said to be one of the most romantic stories of recent times. Shahid will be seen playing a Punjabi boy Harry and Sonam plays Kashmiri girl Aayat in the film. 

Rumors had it that Shahid Kapoor's look was inspired from the cult movie Top Gun wherein Tom Cruise was playing an ace pilot. But the air has been cleared since then as Mausam had nothing to do with neither Top Gun nor Tom Cruise because Tom Cruise didn't sport a moustache like Shahid Kapoor. It is also learned that Shahid Kapoor will be the first Bollywood actor ever to fly the F-16 In Super Viper fighter plane in the movie Mausam. 

When the theatrical trailer of Mausam was launched, it became a rage as it touched hearts and connected well with the masses. Shahid also added that Mausam meant more to him than just a film. It is a film very close to his heart and it's a special film for the actor. It's the first time that father and son Pankaj Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor would be in a film. 

Mausam is a love story in its first season which starts with mere adolescent attraction between a Punjabi boy Harry, and a Kashmiri girl Aayat, in a small village of Punjab. It develops into young love between them in season two. Their love realizes its own depth in the hours of separation through season three. In the fourth and final season their love culminates into togetherness. But not before sacrificing a lot personally and learning the truth behind universal love. It is a passionate love story which sees, as its background various shades of life, questioning us and yet not becoming indulgent.

Mausam is all set to release on the 16th of September at a theatre near you. Let's hope Mausam will prove be a season changer.
